# How to control your Yoto player

When nothing is playing and the clock is showing, press the Green Button to play the first item on the Green Button menu (default set to Yoto Daily).

## **4th Generation controls**

  

### **Left orange button**

*   **Turn** to adjust the volume.
    
*   **Short press** to skip to the previous track.
    
*   **P****ress and hold** to rewind.
    
*   **When the clock is showing, press and hold** to pair Bluetooth headphones.
    
      
    

  

### **Right orange button**

*   **Turn to** navigate through tracks, then press to select one.
    
*   **Short press** to skip to the next track.
    
*   **Press and hold** to fast-forward.
    
      
    

### **The Green Button**

*   **Twist** to browse your child’s favourites - the artwork appears on the display - then **press** to play.
    
*   When nothing is playing and the clock is showing, **press the Green Button** to play the first item on the Green Button menu (default set to Yoto Daily).

*   **Long press** to turn your player on or off.
    
*   **Short press** to check the battery level.
    

  

## **Earlier players controls**

  

### **Left orange dial (Yoto Player and Yoto Mini)**

*   **Turn** clockwise or anti-clockwise to adjust the volume.
    
*   **Press** to skip to the previous track or chapter (with a card in).
    
*   **Press and hold** (longer than 1 second) while something’s playing to rewind.
    
*   **Press and hold for about 3 seconds** with the clock showing to open the Bluetooth menu - then turn the right-hand dial to choose and press to confirm. \[LINK PLACEHOLDER - Using headphones with your Yoto\]

### **Right orange dial** (Yoto Player and Yoto Mini)

_With a card in:_

*   **Press** to skip to the next track or chapter.
    
*   **Turn** to navigate forwards or backwards through tracks and chapters.
    
*   **Press and hold** (longer than 1 second) while something’s playing to fast-forward.
    

_With no card in:_

*   **Press once** to play Yoto Daily (when you’re online).
    
*   **Press again** for Yoto Radio - and once more to return to the clock.
    

_Yoto Player only - nightlight mode (player face down):_

*   **Turn** clockwise to brighten the nightlight (or turn it back on from zero), anti-clockwise to dim it down to zero.
    

**Pro tip:** you can customise what the right-hand dial does in day and night mode from the Yoto App - head to your player’s settings tab.

  

### **Power button**

You’ll find it on the right side of Yoto Player (3rd Generation) and Yoto Mini, and in the bottom right-hand corner of Yoto Player (2nd Generation).

**Press…**

**What happens**

**Short press**

Pauses or resumes the audio - including audio playing from the app

**Long press**

Stops the audio

**Hold for about 3 seconds**

Turns the player on or off. On Yoto Player: the nightlight flashes twice as it turns on, and a white Yoto face appears as it turns off

**Hold for 10 seconds**

Hard reset - restarts a frozen or misbehaving player. Your Wi-Fi details and audio are safe

  

  

## **How fast-forward and rewind speed up**

The longer you hold either dial, the faster you move through the audio - the chevrons (>) on the display tell you how fast:
