Keep your headphones close to the player, switch them on and put them in **pairing mode**. With the **clock showing** on your Yoto, **press and hold the left-hand orange dial**. When you see the **green tick with headphones**, you’re paired! Audio now plays through the headphones instead of the speaker. The player will return to the Clock screen and a blue dot will remain in the top left hand corner of the display. After a second, the player will return to the idle Clock Screen.  **Prefer to use your player as a Bluetooth speaker?** _Bluetooth speaker functionality won't be available on 4th Generation Yoto Player or Yoto Mini at launch.  The good news is that it will be available at a later date. Like every Yoto before it, 4th Generation is designed to get better over time. Over-the-air updates mean your player will keep improving throughout its life - new features, refinements, and functionality added long after it arrives in your home. Bluetooth speaker is on that roadmap._  _For the latest information about Bluetooth speaker mode and other new features, see_ _4th Generation feature updates._ #### ## **Pairing Bluetooth headphones – Yoto Player (3rd Generation) and earlier Yoto Mini models** 1. Keep your headphones close to the player, switch them on and put them in **pairing mode**, so they go looking for your player. 2. Paired! The display icons turn full colour, and a **blue pixel appears in the top-left corner of the clock** - that’s your “Bluetooth is active” indicator. Audio now plays through the headphones.![](https://cdn.prod2.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/69d522f66edcac3fee157fa8/a3b8421d01604500433755342b868b99.png)![](https://cdn.prod2.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/69d522f66edcac3fee157fa8/3d630a957e3b7e64f233d77f7de2ba0f.png) **If you decide to cancel the pairing:**  1. **Hold the left hand button** for 3 seconds to return to Bluetooth menu mode.  2. **Rotate the right hand button** to switch to the headphone option. 3. **Press the right hand button** to select the headphone option.  4. **Press the left hand button** to exit the Bluetooth pairing. **Prefer to use your player as a Bluetooth speaker?** At step 3, press the right-hand button on the speaker icon instead - then pair with the player from your phone’s Bluetooth settings, like any other speaker. ## **Troubleshooting** * **Headphones won’t reconnect automatically:** reconnect manually - press and hold the left button, turn the right-hand button to the headphone icon, and press. * **Audio stuttering:** disconnect the headphones, then reconnect the same way. * **Headphones won’t pair:** some headphones start on a different Bluetooth version - press their pairing button a second time and try again. * **Paired with the wrong headphones:** the player connects to whichever pairing device has the strongest signal - switch off or move other Bluetooth devices out of range and retry. * **Headphone port not working** (no audio, tested with more than one pair): please contact us
