# Using your Yoto as a Bluetooth speaker

## **Yoto Player (3rd Generation), Yoto Mini (2024 Edition) and Yoto Mini (2021–2023 Edition) can double as a Bluetooth speaker - pair your phone and play anything through your Yoto.**

_**Please note:**_ _Bluetooth speaker functionality won't be available on 4th Generation Yoto Player or Yoto Mini at launch.  The good news is that it will be available at a later date. Like every Yoto before it, 4th Generation is designed to get better over time. Over-the-air updates mean your player will keep improving throughout its life - new features, refinements, and functionality added long after it arrives in your home. Bluetooth speaker is on that roadmap._

### **1\. Switch Bluetooth on in the app**

In the Yoto App, go to **Settings** and select your player.

Scroll to the **Advanced** section at the bottom, and toggle **Bluetooth Pairing** on.

### **2\. Put your player in pairing mode**

Press and hold the **left-hand orange button** for about 3 seconds - a **grey Bluetooth icon** appears on the display.

Your player has two Bluetooth modes: one for **headphones**, one for **speaker**. Switch between them by rotating the Right hand button.

With the **speaker icon** showing, **press the right-hand orange button** to choose it.

  

### **3\. Pair from your phone**

On your phone (or tablet), open **Bluetooth settings** and pair with your Yoto - just like any other Bluetooth speaker. When it connects, you’ll see a confirmation icon on your player’s display. Short-press the **right-hand button**, and you’re all set.

### **4\. Play your audio**

Anything playing on your phone now comes out of your Yoto. One thing to know: in speaker mode, **control playback from your phone** - the player’s buttons take a break.

### **5\. Exit Bluetooth Mode**

Press and hold the **left-hand orange button** for about 3 seconds - your player pops back to normal play mode, ready for cards.
