A guide to how to tell if Yoto Player is online, and why this might be useful
Reasons to know the online status of Yoto Player
There are several reasons why you may need to know if Yoto Player is currently online, including the following:
- Yoto Player needs to be online to download and store locally the audio content for each card. So to play a card for the first time Yoto Player needs to be online.
- Some cards or content, like radio, always needs a connection to play, so if Yoto Player is offline, this content won't work.
- If you want to add new Wi-Fi details to Yoto Player, so it can access another network, you can only do this if Yoto Player is offline.
How to tell if Yoto Player is online
If Yoto Player is online, the sun or moon icon will be displayed (depending on whether your Yoto is currently in 'day' mode or 'night' mode), and the time will be displayed in red.
If the time is displayed in grey, this means Yoto Player is currently offline.
Some other icons you may see, and what they mean
The green Yoto Face icon means that Yoto Player is connected to Wi-Fi but not connected to the internet - this can happen if your internet connection is down.
The white Yoto Face icon means that Yoto Player is offline and time is unknown - please run Setup in the Yoto app to get the Player online.
