Using Yoto Player as a Bluetooth speaker

How to use your Yoto Player as a regular Bluetooth speaker

Feature now working - check your Player has updated

The Bluetooth feature has now been completed, so thanks for being patient! Yoto Player needs to be running the operating system (OS) v2.3.1657 or above for this feature to now work.

You can check which OS your Player is on by navigating in the app to the Account screen and selecting the Settings icon for your Player.

Updates happen automatically when Yoto Player is left switched on, with a Wi-Fi connection, and is not played with for about twenty minutes.

1. How to allow the Bluetooth feature

The first step is to allow this feature in the Settings of your Yoto Player.

In the app, navigate to the Account screen and select the Settings icon for your Yoto Player. Near the top there is the option to Allow Bluetooth Pairing. Toggle this on.

2. Enter Bluetooth Pairing Mode

On your Yoto Player, push the left hand orange button for three seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. You will see a Bluetooth icon on the display when this happens.

3. Pair your device

Now, on your device (your phone probably), pair with the Yoto Player as you would any other Bluetooth speaker.

4. Play your Audio

When pairing is complete you can play audio content from your device straight onto Yoto Player.

To navigate content in Bluetooth speaker mode you will need to use your phone, and not the buttons on Yoto Player. Navigating via the Yoto Player will come at some point fairly soon.

5. Exit Bluetooth Mode

To exit Bluetooth mode simply press the same left hand orange button for three seconds and Yoto Player will revert back to normal play mode.
